UFC 254: Khabib Nurmagomedov announces his retirement from MMA
UFC Lightheavyweight Champion and one of the greatest MMA fighters ever Khabib Nurmagomedov, 32, announced his retirement at UFC 254 after defeating Justin Gaethje.
The announcement was a shock because there were no hints given to the public that this was coming.
Khabib said that he made this decision because of the death of his father and it was his father’s dream for him to fight. Khabib also said that he promised his mother that he would not fight again. As a result of the retirement, his title will be relinquished and it doesn’t look like a rematch with Conor McGregor is in the cards.
Khabib called it a career with an incredible 29-0 record.
Father's plan has been completed. 🙏
