“Cowboy” Donald Cerrone defeated No. 11 lightweight contender Alexander Hernandez on the UFC Fight Night 143 prelims on ESPN and then called out Conor McGregor.
McGregor accepted the challenge within a few minutes after it was issued. “For a fight like that Donald, I’ll fight you,” McGregor wrote. “Congratulations.”

Congratulations.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) January 20, 2019
If McGregor vs. Cerrone is booked, it would be McGregor’s first fight since his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov and it would guarantee a big buyrate because Cerrone is one of the most popular fighters in the company. He also fits stylistically for McGregor.

Cerrone also said that he’s said in the past that he’s not worried about titles and he just wants to fight as much as possible. This time he said that his goal is to win a UFC title.
