PRELIMINARY CARD (UFC Fight Pass, 4:15 p.m. ET)
Chris Dempsey (10-2 MMA 0-1 UFC) vs. Eddie Gordon (7-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC)
Round 1: They touch gloves, Dempsey closes the distances as Gordon throws some stiff right hands, but misses. Gordon with another good right that tags Dempsey. Dempsey continues to move forward, he clinches and puts Gordon on the fence. Gordon switches and gets the outside. Dempsey press off and we’re back to striking. Dempsey catches Gordon with a right hook, he swarms in and clinches with Gordan. Dempsey press off and we’re back to striking at 3:13. Gordan with a good jab, they Dempsey shoots in, but Gordon stuffed it. Gordon on top, using his body weight on the neck and shoulders of Dempsey. Dempsey back to his feet at 2:17. Dempsey with a good left hook, he misses a wild right. Gordan with an uppercut as Dempsey shoots in. Gordon stuffed it, Dempsey looked for a standing guillotine choke, but quickly let go. They break as we go under the one minute mark, Gordon with a good combo that stuns Dempsey and he is back peddling. Dempsey has a small mouse under his left eye. Gordon continues to T off on Dempsey, but Dempsey is standing right there and keeps coming.
Round 2: Dempsey comes right to Gordon, he stays in his face. They clinch near the fence, Gordon puts him on the fence and is now five for five in takedown stuffs. They break, exchange some jabs and Gordon is still looking for his straight right hand. Dempsey with a big left, right combo and then clinches with Gordon. However, Gordon gets a double leg takedown at 3:24 and falls on to side control. Plenty of time to work. Dempsey gives up his back, but is able to stand up and back to his feet. Dempsey with back-to-back left jabs. Gordon clinches and puts Dempsey on the fence. They break, they exchange in the pocket. Gordon continues to press forward, but walks into a straight left. He clinches out of desperation, Dempsey lets go under one minute, but stays on the face of Gordon. Dempsey shoots in for a double leg and gets it with just seconds left in the round.
Round 3: Dempsey goes straight at Gordon, he drops down and locked in a guillotine choke. Gordon scrambles out, he gets the back of Dempsey as Dempsey makes his way back to his feet. Gordon tagged him back-to-back with right hooks. Dempsey closes, clinches and presses him to the fence. They break, Joe Rogan talks about how Eddie Gordon does not look like himself. They exchange bombs, Dempsey fires away and then looks for a single, but Gordon stuffs it. Dempsey shoots in again on a double leg, but stuffed. Gordon shoots in and gets one for himself, but Dempsey locked in a choke, and then quickly let it go. Dempsey, right back to his feet off his back. A close fight. Dempsey shoots in for a single and the fans start to boo. They go the distance.

Diego Brandao (18-10 MMA, 4-3 UFC) vs. Jimy Hettes (11-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC)
Round 1: Hettes comes out, gets a quick double leg takedown, but Brandao right back up. They clinch and Brandao seeks another takedown. Brandao gets it and rolls to Hettes’ back. Brandao switches to side control, Hettes tries to get off his back and does with a great scramble. Brandao clinches, but Hettes is the one to put Brandao on the fence. Brandao is warned not to grab the fence. Brandao gets on top and in guard, he lands a series of big elbows. Hettes went for a heel hook, but Brandao rolled on his belly and got out. They’re back to striking with 43 seconds left. After the round, the doctor stopped the fight because Hettes’ ear is cut.

Tim Means (23-6-1 MMA, 5-3 UFC) vs. George Sullivan (16-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC)
Round 1: Means come forward, Sullivan runs at Means and he puts up a knee that connects with Sullivan’s chin. Means with a leg kick, they exchange body kicks. Sullivan with a straight right with some good head movement. Means just missed a head kick. Sullivan missed a straight right hand, Means clinched and landed a smooth elbow to the face of Sullivan. Sullivan with a good straight right hand that sends him into the clinch of Means. Sullivan with a nice knee to the gut of Means. Means with some short elbows that lands flush to the face of Sullivan. Means landed a sick elbow to the face of Sullivan at the end of that round.
Round 2: Sullivan is keeping his distances and Means is in his head now. Sullivan isn’t fighting anything like he was in the previous round. Means is using his technical striking skills to dish out some punishment. Means clinched and fired away with knees to the body of Sullivan. However, Sullivan shot in and got a double leg. Means scrambled, he got on top in half guard. Means started landing bombs from the top, but with so much punishment, Sullivan had to get to his feet. Means starting to use his right jab to keep Sullivan back. Sullivan with some good jabs, he took a deep breath and is starting to become frustrated. Means with an elbow that drops Sullivan, he swarms him in half guard, but the bell sounds to save Sullivan.
Round 3: Sullivan presses forward with a wild combo, but Means just dodges them and keeps landing shots. Means tripped him, he gets into guard and starts landing some elbows. Means gets into side control and got an arm-triangle choke for the win.

Aljamain Sterling (10-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) vs. Takeya Mizugaki (20-8-2 MMA, 7-3 UFC)
Round 1: Sterling using a wide stance, he threw a head kick, but then clinched and put Mizugaki on the fence. Sterling shot in, but stuffed by Mizugaki. Sterling keeps the pressure on him by putting him on the fence, and working over in the clinch. Mizugaki with a knee to the jaw of Sterling. Moments later, the referee breaks up the clinch Fest. Sterling threw a leg kick, but Mizugaki caught him with a right hook. Sterling shot in for a single leg and got it. Sterling got Mizugaki’s back, Sterling continues to try to get Mizugaki down, but can’t.
Round 2: Mizugaki more aggressive this round, but Sterling shot in and got a single leg takedown. Mizugaki right back to his feet, Sterling with a knee to the body of Mizugaki. Mizugaki breaks and lands a nice elbow as he does. Sterling continues to shoot in, but Mizugaki continues to stuff them. Mizugaki misses a flying knee and connects to the shoulder of Sterling. Sterling is starting to mix it up with his kicks. Sterling gets a quick single leg takedown, but Mizugaki right back to his feet. Sterling with another one and puts Mizugaki on the fence. Sterling gets the back of Mizugaki, he has back mounted and then softens up Mizugaki with strikes.
Round 3: Sterling waits until one minute into the round and goes right back to what he did all fight, TAKEDOWNS. Sterling gets the back of Mizugaki, matter of fact, back mount and Mizugaki has a dazed confused look on his face. Mizugaki rolled over and got on top, but Sterling got Mizugaki’s arm, forced an arm-triangle choke for the win!

Corey Anderson (4-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) vs. Gian Villante (12-5 MMA, 2-2 UFC)
Round 1: Anderson is working the left jabs early, he nailed a body kick to Villante. Anderson mixes things up well with combos. Villante using leg kicks over and over. Anderson looked for a double leg, but Villante was not moving and he decided to let go. Anderson missed an overhand right. Anderson throws some punches, but not landing them. Anderson with a good jab, he caught a kick and landed a straight right. Anderson lands a right hook, Villante continues to land a leg kick. Villante with a head kick that pops the crowd. They exchange in the pocket, Anderson is starting to bleed from his nose. Villante is easing Corey Anderson alive with leg kicks.
Round 2: Villante continues to throw some devastating leg kicks that Anderson has no answer for. Anderson presses forward and lands a nice 1-2 combo. Anderson is using some good head movement while mixing up his combos. Anderson clinches with Villante, lands a knee to the gut and then moves. Anderson with another combo, Villante nose is swollen pretty good. Anderson fires away and finishes the round with a flying knee.
Round 3: While Anderson tries to be the more aggressive fighter, Villante is the one, who is controlling the movement of Anderson with his leg kicks. Anderson lands a knee to the body of Villante and then to the face. Villante mixes up his strikes very well. Villante with a huge straight right hand that puts Anderson out on his feet and this one is over!

Division: Light heavyweight
Patrick Cummins (7-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) vs. Ovince Saint Preux (17-6 MMA, 5-1 UFC)
Round 1: Cummins moving often, but OSP landed a body kick. OSP threw a kick, but Cummins took him down with a double leg. OSP right back to his feet off the scramble. Cummins with a slam, but OSP right back to his feet. Cummins with a clinch and landed a knee to the face of OSP. Cummins with some knees to the leg of OSP. OSP with a knee to the body of Cummins and that stunned him. OSP missed two overhand left strike. Cummins picked him up and slammed him down. OSP scrambles right back to his feet. Cummins with a straight right hand, OSP swinging in bunches, but misses. OSP appears to be tired. OSP shot in, but Cummins stuffed it and landed some short right hands. Cummins ran in and OSP put him down with a left uppercut. OSP swarms on Cummins and finishes the fight with punches.

Division: Light heavyweight
Beneil Dariush (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) vs. Jim Miller (24-5 MMA, 13-4 UFC)
Round 1: Dariush landed a superman punch, they clinch for a moment, but Miller landed a good right hand. Dariush has a tight grip, he landed a few knees to the body of Miller. Miller landed some good, elbows and then rolled into a Kimura lock, then switched to a triangle choke, but Dariush got out. Miller is on his back, Dariush on top in half guard. Miller tries to scramble off his back, but Dariush does a good job keeping him grounded.
Round 2: Miller shot in right away with a double leg, but Dariush stuffed it and got on top. Miller went for a guillotine choke, but let it go. Dariush gets Miller back and looked for a choke. Dariush went for it again, he locked in a rear-naked choke. Miller fends him off, doing some good back defense. Dariush ends the round on his back and in control.
Round 3: Dariush gets an early round takedown, Miller is gassed. The fans boo this fight, but Dariush’s grappling is elite. Dariush moves from side control into mount and is controlling this fight. Dariush gets the back of Miller, Miller stands up and slams Dariush down, but Dariush stays on his back and stays in control of Miller.
Result: Beneil Dariush def. Jim Miller by unanimous decision (29-28 on all cards)
MAIN CARD (FOX, 8 p.m. ET)
Felice Herrig (10-5 MMA, 1-0 UFC) vs. Paige VanZant (4-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC)
Round 1: Herrig goes right at VanZant, they exchange and then clinch. Herrig with some good uppercuts. She keeps control of the clinch, but VanZant gets a headlock takedown. Herrig gets her back, VanZant has the right arm of Herrig. VanZant tries throwing right hands from her back. Herrig grabbed one of VanZant arm, but VanZant scrambles. VanZant clinches and puts Herrig on the fence Tons of action early. VanZant with a knee to the body of Herrig. VanZant went for a throw, but Herrig countered. VanZant on top and landing some big shots from half guard. VanZant with a big elbow. VanZant went for a heel hook late into the round, but nothing comes from it.
Round 2: Both girls come out and clinch. VanZant puts Herrig on the fence and lands some knees to the body of Herrig while in the clinch. VanZant with a good elbow over the top. VanZant gets a takedown, Herrig tries to scramble over, but can’t and VanZant is on top. Herrig back to her feet, they clinch at 2:46. VanZant throws a knee, but caught and Herrig gets the single leg takedown. VanZant stays neutral and gets on top. VanZant throws some bombs from the top and Herrig is just eating them. Herrig went for an arm bar, but VanZant gets out. VanZant on top and the fans pop. VanZant rained down some big shots late in the round. This crowd is fully behind VanZant.
Round 3: They clinch right away, Herrig with a takedown, but VanZant stuffed it. VanZant lands punches in bunches while on top. Talk about a beatdown, VanZant is doing just that. Herrig gets her back, but VanZant has no problem with that has she turns over and gets on top. VanZant tries to finish the fight with punches, but doesn’t.
Result: Paige VanZant def. Felice Herrig via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-26)
Max Holloway (12-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) vs. Cub Swanson (21-6 MMA, 6-2 UFC)
Round 1: Holloway with an opening round body kick and then a head kick. Max looking for a wild hook, but rans at and into a right hook by Cub. Holloway with a head kick, then a good right hand jab. Cub with a jumping head kick. Sick. Cub with a left jab, then a flying knee to the body of Cub. Holloway is taking it to Cub in this round. Holloway landed a knee to the gut of Cub, but Cub answered with a right hook. Cub’s left eye is starting to swell up. Holloway with a head kick to Cub followed by a straight right hand. Cub answered with a left hook. Holloway stunned Cub with a left hook, they exchange in the pocket and to the bell.
Round 2: Holloway with a good body kick followed by a body combo. Holloway is doing a swell job of mixing things up, keeping Cub thinking and on his toes. Cub starts to throw more kicks, mostly leg kicks. Holloway uses the southpaw stance, he is lighting up Swanson and that stance is helpful right now. Holloway with back-to-back right hooks. Holloway is starting to taunting Cub, he swarmed Cub and light him up with strikes. Cub is starting to opening things up, more kicks and more active. Holloway hurt Cub at the end of the round with an uppercut and a knee to the face.
Round 3: Cub clinches with him right away, but Holloway is performing so well that it does not bother him. Holloway is doing such a good job at being technical with a dangerous fighter like Cub. Holloway hurt him with a straight right, Cub fell and Holloway swarmed him on the ground. Holloway locked in an arm triangle choke, but let go. Cub gets up and Holloway just misses a superman punch. Holloway with punches in bunches that hurt Cub and then locked in a guillotine choke from on top in mount. Cub tapped out and this one is over.

Chris Camozzi (21-9 MMA, 6-6 UFC) vs. Ronaldo Souza (21-3 MMA, 4-0 UFC)
Round 1: Camozzi lands a nice inside leg kick to start the fight off. Souza T’s off with a series of big right hands. Camozzi lands a good left jab, Souza with a double leg takedown, Souza looks for an armbar from side control, he got it and that was it.

Lyoto Machida (22-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) vs. Luke Rockhold (13-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC)
Round 1: Machida with an opening round leg kick, Rockhold misses a wild right hook and Machida lands a left jab. Machida with a nice left, right combo. Rockhold threw Machida to the ground and locked in a guillotine choke, but let go. Rockhold on top in half guard. Machida tries to scramble off his back, but Rockhold does a nice job of staying on top. Rockhold gets the back of Machida, but Machida scrambles to his feet. Rockhold pulls him down, great grappling. Machida rolls over to his back, Rockhold on top, but wrestles to the back of Machida. Machida back to his feet with the wall walk, Rockhold kicked out the right leg of Machida and got the back of Machida. Rockhold fires away on Machida from back mount. Rockhold with a hard elbow to Machida’s face to end the round.
Round 2: Rockhold throwing kicks to open the round. Machida’s face is busted up to start this round. Rockhold with a leg kick, Machida looks dazed and not himself. Rockhold with a right hook, that sent Machida to the ground. Rockhold on top in half guard. Rockhold gets Machida back and locked in the rear-naked choke for the win.
