Floyd Mayweather returned to the boxing ring on Monday for RIZIN’s New Year’s Eve show in an exhibition bout against kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.
Going into the fight, it was made clear that the fight would not count as part of Mayweather’s record since it was just a four-round exhibition but any concerns regarding a miracle win by Nasukawa were brushed aside quickly.
The 41-year old Mayweather seemed loose and smiled for most of the bout as he easily blocked the punches from the 20-year old kickboxer. Mayweather landed several body and headshots that knocked Nasukawa down several times.
The fight ended in the first round after Nasukawa’s corner threw in the towel.
Mayweather has said that he would make $9 million for the bout. There was some concern that he would no-show because Mayweather was over two hours late to the event.
After his victory, Mayweather told the media that he is still retired. The fight was not available for viewing on pay-per-view in the United States but it has popped up on Twitter, as you can see below:
