Recently, TMZ Sports caught up with WWE personality Paul Heyman to get his thoughts on Universal Champion Brock Lesnar’s return to the UFC next year, the possibility of fighting Daniel Cormier, and Conor McGregor’s potential as a WWE star. This past summer, Lesnar and Cormier teased a title fight with one another when they engaged in a physical confrontation inside the Octagon shortly after Cormier’s heavyweight title win.
The current plan for the UFC is to have Lesnar return and fight Cormier for the heavyweight title once “The Beast’s” United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) suspension is up. When asked if he thinks the fight will happen, Heyman said that depends on two factors. One – Cormier has the “balls” to step into the cage against Lesnar, and two – the UFC opens up the checkbook for Lesnar:
“As long as Daniel Cormier has the balls to step into the Octagon and put his title up against Brock Lesnar, and UFC comes up with the money for Brock Lesnar – I don’t see anything that would keep Brock Lesnar from taking the fight.”
Heyman also had a witty response when asked if he’d like to advocate for UFC mega-star Conor McGregor in a potential WWE career:
“The only way I would ever advocate for Conor McGregor is if I got 50 percent of his money – which, considering the fact that I can talk far better than Conor McGregor, I would deserve a lot more, but I would be reasonable with my fee for my advocacy.”
