A major name is reportedly leaving All Elite Wrestling.
It was reported today on Fightful Select that Rafael Morffi is leaving the company. For those of you who don’t recognize the name, he’s the Vice President of Live Events/Touring. If you listen to Jim Ross’ podcast, you may have heard Ross reference him as the two are good friends and Ross has touted the work he’s done for AEW.
Morffi is said to be looking at pursuing other interests in 2024. He has been with the company since the early days in 2019, so it’s a surprise to hear that he’s leaving. Morffi has been valuable for several companies in and out of pro wrestling before he joined AEW. He previously worked in TNA as their Live Event Tour Manager/Senior Director of Live Events. From November 2000 until August 2021 he worked for WWE. In WWE he held the title of Senior Director, Live Event Marketing.
There is no word yet on who might be taking over for Morffi’s role in AEW.
