AEW Star Reportedly Turned Down Cameo Appearance on Dynamite

AEW is preparing for the launch of Collision ahead of its premiere on June 17 as a new weekly Saturday night two-hour program on TNT. They’ve advertised the likes of CM Punk, Miro, Samoa Joe, Thunder Rosa, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Andrade El Idolo.

Andrade was a name that stood out to the fans as Andrade has been out of action since September due to torn pec and got surgery in November. He was also sent home by AEW in October after he was involved in a backstage fight with Sammy Guevara.

Andrade will make his in-ring return on June 15 in Mexico at the Olimpico Laguna Arena in a three-way bout against Cibernetico and Psycho Clown.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Andrade was backstage at the May 10 Dynamite event where he was supposed to appear in a segment that would’ve been similar to what Miro and Thunder Rosa did as they walked into the office of AEW President Tony Khan. However, the report noted that “he didn’t want to do that segment, but weren’t told why.”

He was backstage the following week at Dynamite to film a backstage segment for social media.

Andrade has been working out in the ring since before the May 10th Dynamite event but wasn’t ready to wrestle at the time.
