WWE may be getting back a notable absent star in the near future, something that’s been expected for a while now.
Sheamus has been sidelined with a shoulder injury as his last match happened in a loss to Edge on the August 18th SmackDown. Before being taken off television, he had been an upper mid-carder in recent years while being paired with Butch and Ridge Holland.
He most notably feuded with Drew McIntyre and GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 39 last year. Butch has since gone back to the Pete Dunne name while Holland is in NXT.
It was reported ahead of last month’s Royal Rumble, where there are typical surprises with injured talent returning or legends appearing, that he expected to return at the event. However, Sheamus didn’t make a return, something that Sami Zayn did after being off television. It’s still unclear what nixed that return.
Sheamus posted this following teaser, causing fans to think he may be back on TV soon:
