AEW Dynamite Results for October 5, 2022

 Welcome to our live coverage of AEW Dynamite, which is taking place in The Sports and Entertainment arena jn Washington, D.C. tonight’s episode of Dynamite will also serve as the three year anniversary of the show. Announced for tonight’s show, MJF will take on Wheeler Yuta, “Hangman” Adam Page will take on Rush, Daniel Garcia will team up with Bryan Danielson to take on Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin will take on Jay Lethal, Luchasaurus will be in action with Christian Cage by his side, Toni Storm will team up with Athena and Willow Nightingale with Saraya in their corner to take on the team of Jamie Hayter, Serena Deeb, and Penelope Ford, and Wardlow will defend his TNT championship against Brian Cage.

Match 1: Wheeler Yuta vs MJF

– The match starts off with MJF backing Yuta in the corner, Yuta then hits an Olympic slam on MJF, MJF then lands a series of stomps onto Yuta in the corner, MJF then hits a gutwrench suplex on Yuta as we go to commercial break.

*Commercial break*

– We are back from commercial as we see Yuta hit a series of german suplexes on MJF, Yuta then hits an enziguri on MJF, both men then exchange a series of rollups, both men then closeline each other down to the mat, Yuta then hits a hurricarana from the second rope, Yuta then lands a series of elbows to the face of MJF,  MJF then forces Yuta to submit. 

Winner via submission: MJF at 15:06. 

– After the match, MJF and Yuta almost shake hands but Lee Moriarty attacks Yuta from behind, MJF is then about to hit Yuta with the Dynamite diamond ring but William Regal goes to the ring with brassknuckles, MJF then retreats.

Match 2: Jay Lethal vs Darby Allin 

– The match starts off with Darby landing a headlock takeover on Lethal, Lethal then works on Darby’s knee, Darby then hits an inverted DDT as we go to commercial break. 

*Commercial break*

– We are back from commercial as we see Jay hit a german suplex on Darby, Darby then hits a codered on Jay to secure a nearfall, Darby then pins Jay with the last supper rollup.

Winner via submission: Darby Allin at 10:16. 

– After the match, Lethal and Darby shake hands. 

Match 3: TNT championship: Wardlow (c) vs Brian Cage

– The match starts off with Cage landing a series of shoulder tackles on Wardlow in the corner, Wardlow then lands a series of shoulder tackles in the corner, Wardlow then hits a hurricarana on Cage, Cage then hits a tilt-a-whirl headscissiors on Wardlow as we go to commercial break.

*Commercial break*

– We are back from commercial as we see Wardlow hit a corkscrew from the top rope onto Cage, Wardlow then hits a belly-to-belly suplex on Cage, Cage then hits an F-5 on Wardlow to secure a nearfall, Wardlow then hits four powerbombs on Cage to secure the pinfall victory.

Winner via pinfall and STILL TNT champion: Wardlow at 10:05. 

Match 4: Willow Nightingale, Toni Storm, and Athena vs Jamie Hayter, Penelope Ford, and Serena Deeb 

– The match starts off with Willow and Hayter, both then quickly tag out, Deeb then lands an uppercut on Athena, Toni then hits a running hipattack onto Deeb in the corner, Deeb then punches away at Toni as we go to commercial break.

*Commercial break*

– We are back from commercial as we see Toni kick on Penelope, Toni then hits an enziguri on Serena, Willow then hits a powerbomb on Penelope to secure the pinfall victory.

Winners via pinfall: Willow Nightingale, Athena, and Toni Storm at 9:29.

– After the match, Saraya hits a superkick on Rebel.

– The Acclaimed make their entrance, Anthony Bowens says that daddy loves his scissor, Bowens says that they are the best homegrown team in AEW history, Bowens says that they have the best selling TV in 2022, Bowens says that AEW stands for Acclaimed every Wednesday, Bowens says that everyone loves The Acclaimed, Billy then gives Bowens a giant scissor as a present, Caster says that Washington won the superbowl 40 years ago and his dad was on the championship team, Caster says that they wear pink and everyone loves pink, Caster then hosts a scissor to unite the country, Swerve Strickland then interrupts, Swerve says that kids can get suspended in this generation like two decades ago, Swerve says that if it wasn’t for Billy, they wouldn’t be tag team champions, Swerve then challenges Billy to a match next week, Smart Mark Sterling then interrupts, Mark says that The Acclaimed need him, Billy then hits a suplex on Smart Mark, Caster then hits a legdrop on Smart Mark, The Acclaimed then scissor with Billy one last time. 

Match 5: Rush vs Adam Page 

– The match starts off both men exchanging a series of chops, Rush then throws Page into the barricade, Rush then sends Page into the barricade as we go to commercial break.

*Commercial break*

– We are back from commercial as we see Page hit a fallaway slam on Rush, Page then pins Rush.

Winner via pinfall: “Hangman” Adam Page. 

– After the match, Moxley interrupts, Page says that if Moxley has been wanting this for so long, where is he going right now, Moxley says that this is Page’s final warning and that he has thirteen days to watch his mouth. 

Match 6: Luchasaurus vs Fuego Del Sol

– The match starts off with Luchasaurus hitting a chokeslam on Fuego, Wardlow then pins Fuego to secure the pinfall victory.

Winner via pinfall: Luchasaurus at 0:25.  

– After the match, Jungle Boy hits Jungle Boy in the stomach and back with a steel chair, Jungle Boy says that Luchasaurus was his best friend, Jungle Boy says that he’s going to break him piece by miserable piece, Christian says that this match won’t happen tonight in front of these losers but instead next week, Christian says that it will happen in his hometown of Toronto, Canada. 

Match 7: Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho vs Bryan Danielson and Daniel Garcia 

– The match starts off with Garcia and Jericho shaking hands, Garcia then lands a series of chops to the chest of Jericho, Bryan then catches Guevara with an uppercut as we go to commercial break.

*Commercial break*

– We are back from commercial as we see Bryan hit a double underhook suplex on Guevara, Guevara then hits a Spanish fly on Bryan, Bryan and Guevara then Collide with a crossbody, Garcia and Jericho then stare off, both men then exchange a series of punches, Garcia then lands a series of kicks to the stomach of Jericho, Garcia then locks Jericho in a sharpshooter, Guevara then hits a superkick on Garcia, Bryan and Garcia then land a series of elbows on Jericho and Guevara, Garcia then hits a piledriver on Guevara, Jericho then sends Bryan through the timekeeper’s table, Guevara then hits the GTH on Garcia, Garcia then locks Guevara in the dragonslayer but Jericho hits him with the ROH championship, allowing Guevara to secure the pinfall victory.

Winners via pinfall: Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho at 14:25.
