Injuries are going to happen no matter the style or the promotion they’re in. For one AEW star, they’ve found this out the hard way. Fortunately, the injury won’t keep this wrestler out of the squared circle.
His AEW run
Brian Cage signed with AEW in 2020. His contract was set to expire in 2022 before the promotion picked up his option year. Cage was surprised that AEW did this at the time because he hadn’t expected it after not being on TV for months. Cage signed a new deal last year that will keep him under contract for years to come. He has been used across AEW and ROH television.
Cage wrestled on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, where he teamed with Lance Archer & Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) in a loss to Adam Copeland, Dustin Rhodes, Orange Cassidy & Preston Vance.
He’s set to wrestle on Saturday’s AEW Collision, where he is set to team with Kaun & Toa on AEW Collision to defend the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships against Lance Archer & The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch).
The injury
He’s been doing all of this with a torn lat. He shared the injury news in the following post on Instagram:
“Got my shit in, did my version of OC in the pocket, or the “Al Bundy Suplex” and did it all with a torn lat. Who’s a machine?????? This guy,” wrote Cage.
