AEW star returned from injury much sooner than originally expected

Darius Martin had been on the sidelines with an injury after being involved in a car accident but has returned to in-ring action.

It happened when Martin, alongside his brother Dante Martin and AR Fox, took on Death Triangle in an action-packed trios match during Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Death Triangle went over to retain the Trios Titles and will now defend the titles against The Elite at Saturday’s Full Gear event.

Fightful Select reports that many within AEW thought Darius wouldn’t be back until next year. The report stated, “Darius Martin’s return came much sooner than many expected in AEW. Many thought he’d be out until early 2023.”

Malakai Black first revealed Martin’s accident this past April. He had recently returned from a torn ACL that left him out of action for over a year.

After breaking into the business in 2016, Top Flight signed with All Elite Wrestling in November 2020. Before his return, Darius’ most recent bout was on April 15 where Frankie Kazarian, The Hardys & Top Flight defeated Angelico, Max Caster, Private Party & The Blade during an episode of AEW Dark.
