AEW WrestleDream 2023 Results: Adam Copeland (Edge) Saves Darby Allin & Sting in Promotional Debut

AEW TNT Champion Christian Cage vs. Darby Allin in a Two out of Three Falls Match took place at the AEW WrestleDream 2023 pay-per-view event from Seattle, WA at Climate Pledge Arena.

Cage took control before Allin secured the first fall out of nowhere, surprising Cage by using his turtleneck against him. With a roll up. Allin with code red for a near third fall then a springboard move for several near falls. Allin missed a coffin drop on the floor. Cage moved the steel steps and went to do a move, but Allin avoided. Cage suplexed Allin off the apron to the floor then onto the steps twice. This allowed Cage to score a fall and tie things up 1-1. They brought out a stretcher and checked on Allin while Cage was ripping up the ring canvas. Cage hit a splash off the middle rope to Allin, who was on the canvas. Cage with kill switch on the exposed wood for a near fall. Cage went for a spear, but Allin avoided and went for a move, but Cage locked in the scorpion death lock instead. Allin got to the bottom rope then gauged the eyes and hit the scorpion death drop. Allin with the coffin drop for the near fall. Cage with a sunset flip powerbomb on the wood. Cage with an accidental spear to the referee. Cage with a low blow to Allin. Nick Wayne ran down to get the TNT Title from Cage. Wayne hit Allin with the title and Cage pinned Allin to retain.

Winner: Christian Cage

Post-match, Wayne beat down Allin until Sting walked out to the ring and attacked them both. Luchasours walked out and the numbers were too much for Sting. Cage was going to lay out Sting with a chair, but Edge walked out after a brief movie of him driving to the arena aired. He confronted Cage, took the chair, and took out the heels.
