To say AEW President Tony Khan is fired up for tonight’s AEW Dynamite would be an understatement.
Dynamite and NXT will be going head-to-head tonight as Dynamite was moved out of its normal timeslot due to TBS’ coverage of the MLB playoffs. Both companies have loaded up the show with big matches and will be commercial-free during the first 30 minutes. Khan previously shot on Vince McMahon, which you can see here.
Now, the AEW President has gone after Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
Haus of Wrestling has an article with quotes from a source in WWE who noted tonight will be “a very clear example of how and why WWE is WWE, and why AEW has a long way to go.”
The source “discussed how they felt AEW had been lulled into a false sense of reality that they were somehow an industry leader by continuing to beat WWE’s number three brand in viewership.”
It was said Khan “poked the wrong ones at the wrong time,” and creative for the show was designed for great storytelling to shine up the younger stars by bringing in main roster stars.
Khan saw the article and responded on Twitter by writing the following:
