With CM Punk’s AEW return again planned to happen on the premiere episode of AEW Collision on June 17 in Chicago at the United Center, there has been some speculation about where things stand with Ace Steel.
Steel, who had been working as a producer for AEW before the Brawl Out incident took place at All Out and was let go by the promotion, has been brought back.
Punk and AEW had been at odds over a misunderstanding regarding bringing back Steel. It came down to Punk thinking Steel could be at Collision events to work backstage, while AEW thought Steel would work remotely. Punk pushed for Steel to be brought back as part of the agreement that he would return to AEW.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted Steel will be working remotely.
“The decision is, as far as we know, that Ace Steel will be working remotely. He will not be an agent going to the Collision shows, which was what the big thing that happened last Tuesday was. So that was how that was settled,” Meltzer stated.
