Backstage news on AEW’s plans for the premiere of their new weekly TV show

In recent weeks, reports have heated up the talk of a new weekly AEW show coming in the near future.

It was reported by Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast earlier this month that AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery are closing in on a deal to add a third AEW show, similar to Rampage, indicating a one-hour series.

He later tweeted a hint that the show may air on Saturdays at 6:05 PM. This was the same night and time slot WCW Saturday Night aired on TBS.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the show may be premiering by July. AEW recently nixed a Rampage event from Friday, July 14, and added a “TV event” on Saturday, July 8 from Regina, Saskatchewan.

Meltzer wrote, “The schedule in June hasn’t been announced yet other than the Canadian shows so we don’t know if this (7/14 in Regina, Saskatchewan) is the first Saturday taping or the Saturday show will begin before this date. But the Saturday show is right now planned and unless something major changes it will be debuting at least by July if not earlier.”

All Elite Wrestling recently filed to trademark “AEW Collision” for entertainment services with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, which could be the name of the new show.
