Backstage news on Bray Wyatt’s talks with WWE about a potential return

With Triple H in charge of talent relations and creative in WWE, he has brought back several former stars. The belief is that Triple H is operating with a “clean slate” and doesn’t hold the same grudges held under the old Vince McMahon regime.

As previously reported, Wyatt’s name was brought up recently within WWE as the company considers names they want to bring back. Several current wrestlers have said that they would go “to bat” for Wyatt, but they don’t believe that he would need that to be brought back.

Earlier this month, Wyatt reportedly received a “serious” offer from an upstart wrestling promotion. The source heavily implied that it was actor/ex-WWE writer Freddie Prinze, Jr’s promotion set to launch within the next year.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE has held talks with Wyatt.

Meltzer wrote, “Regarding talk of Wyatt returning, there were definitely talks in that direction. At one point, the talks stalled, but it was said it was not a dead issue. Talks with him outside WWE had also stalled in the past, as his asking price was well above what other companies were willing to pay.”

When Wyatt was with WWE, he was among the highest-paid wrestlers in the company behind Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

Triple H recently said the following during his interview with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport during Clash at the Castle weekend regarding Wyatt:

“One of the most – I mean this is the best way possible – crazy creative people, I’ve ever been around. His mind just never stops thinking of creative, but it’s like being in a whirlwind of stuff so without the harness, and without somebody to point the tornado it’s just all over the place. He’s a victim of his own mind and his creative and it’s just everywhere but I love working with him.”
