WWE saw Sasha Banks and Naomi both walk out of the company in May, but Banks, now going by the name of Mercedes Mone, has been the only one to make her return to the squared circle as she made her NJPW debut earlier this week at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
There had been speculation about Naomi’s future in the wrestling business as there hadn’t been much of an update on her status for months.
Hours after Banks made her NJPW debut, it was reported that Naomi is expected to make a return to WWE.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that talks between WWE and Naomi are ongoing, but nothing has been signed as of midweek.
Naomi first signed with WWE in 2009 before being used on the Total Divas cast. She also found success as a singles star as a former SmackDown Women’s Champion.
