Roman Reigns was said not to be too happy when he got backstage after the WarGames match at Saturday’s WWE Survivor Series event, where The Bloodline was victorious over Sheamus, Butch, Ridge Holland, Kevin Owens, and Drew McIntyre.
“The Tribal Chief” was mad at Owens over an unplanned spot that saw Owens hit him in the face. Reigns was visibly upset about the situation, but the belief among those in WWE was that it wouldn’t impact them being able to work together.
As first reported by WrestlingNews.co, WWE has big plans for Owens and Reigns at the Royal Rumble and long-term plans for The Bloodline leading up to WrestleMania. Click here for spoiler news on plans for The Bloodline storyline.
On Monday’s episode of Raw, Owens beat Jey Uso before ending his friendship with Sami Zayn.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that despite the incident, WWE is still going forward with their plans for Owens and Zayn.
“During the match, there was a slap that Kevin Owens gave Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns had a bruise under his left eye, and he may have ruptured an eardrum. There was definitely an eardrum injury….S**t happens in pro wrestling. Roman Reigns after was very upset and was very vehement about it and was yelling about it. What I do know at this point and probably going forward, everything that has been planned for Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn is going on exactly as planned. It’s not like ‘I’m not gonna work with him,’ or ‘Management will bury him.’ None of that’s happening. Kevin Owens beat Jey Uso tonight. Whatever the plans are, barring an injury or a change…everything is going as it is planned to go.”
