Matt Jackson had been sidelined for the last several weeks due to a partially torn bicep that he suffered at the end of March.
It happened in the early moments of a three-way match for the AEW Trios Championships in Winnipeg on an episode of Dynamite. Despite the injury, it had not kept him off television. Instead, he was using a brace to support his arm.
The original timetable for his return was 6-8 weeks. On this past Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, Jackson got physical when delivering superkicks to members of the Blackpool Combat Club.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Jackson’s injury had healed faster than expected.
Meltzer wrote, “He was actually cleared this week, a few weeks ahead of schedule and was bumping and running the ropes in the ring before the 5/10 show and has done resistance training for a few weeks.”
It appears AEW is building up to a match between The Elite and The BCC for Double or Nothing later this month.
