Backstage news on WWE’s changing the look of TV events on WrestleMania weekend

The presentation of events, including WWE Raw, NXT Stand & Deliver, and SmackDown, will be different on WrestleMania 40 weekend when they hold these shows at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia next year.

The shows

On Friday, April 5, they would host Friday Night SmackDown and the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony before returning with NXT Stand & Deliver. They will wrap up the weekend on Monday, April 8, with Monday Night Raw.

As previously noted, WWE is planning to have the arena open to full capacity based on the ticket map for the shows, which WrestleTix first revealed. It will see the smaller tunnel setup for past events, including Backlash, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series. By not having the big sets, it allows more fans to attend.

WWE’s decision

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE’s decision to make the change comes down to being able to sell more tickets and money.

Meltzer wrote, “The feeling is that with all the tourists in town and the brand being hot they will be able to sell more tickets and drive more revenue (plus it saves on arena costs). “

Raw and SmackDown will be set up for 18,553 tickets instead of the normal 13,000 range.
