There is still no word on Drew McIntyre’s contract situation other than nothing has changed from last time.
The belief is that McIntyre is not happy with the creative direction of his character and both sides are far apart on terms for a new deal. McIntyre has not appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania in Los Angeles and has remained quiet on social media.
There has been a lot of discussion amongst fans that perhaps he could show up at All In London this September but that’s not a possibility.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is “basically no chance” of that happening because his WWE deal expires months after All In and if (big if) he leaves WWE, he wouldn’t be able to show up in AEW or anywhere else until 2024.
Furthermore, there’s a good chance that WWE will add time to his deal to make up for the time he’s been out with an injury. So, don’t look for McIntyre to pop up in another promotion anytime soon.
