Becky Lynch vs. Trish Status Match Pulled From WWE SummerSlam Because There Wasn’t Enough Time

As was stated this past Monday night on Raw, Becky Lynch vs. Trish Status will be happening on an upcoming Raw instead of WWE SummerSlam in Detroit.

On social media, Becky and Trish have hinted that they were not happy about this and many fans on social media have expressed their unhappiness about this as well as this feud has been built for months, and the logical way to conclude it would be on a major PLE event instead of a regular episode of Raw.

There has been speculation that Trish was not cleared to wrestle but that’s not accurate and both women are cleared so they could have the match on Saturday if asked to do so. Fightful Select reports that WWE has been adamant about the runtimes for the matches on their PLE events, and that’s why some matches that were built for the show will not be happening on Saturday. Lynch vs. Stratus would have been “severely limited” by time if it happened on Saturday and thus, the decision to delay it. Fightful adds that there’s been consideration about having the match happen at Payback in September.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the time constraints are the reason why Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez is not scheduled for SummerSlam but there’s still a possibility that they can fit the match on the show.
