The first night of WWE NXT Halloween Havoc featured a main event of Becky Lynch putting her NXT Women’s Championship on the line against Lyra Valkyria, with Jade Cargill watching on.
The match ended with Lyra getting the win, dethroning Lynch as the Women’s Champion, which marked Lyra’s first championship win in WWE. While Women’s Champion, Lynch defended the title six times across several shows, including Raw, NXT and live events.
Bodyslam.net reports the top WWE star was banged up going into the match. However, whatever the issue is, it did not play a part in her loss to Valkyria.
Per the report, the belief is it’s not an extension of the arm injury Lynch suffered at No Mercy when battling Tiffany Stratton. It’s unclear whether Lynch will need to take time off to heal up.
