Although WWE is quickly approaching its next PLE, King and Queen of the Ring, later this month, they will have to turn around for Clash at the Castle from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.
The King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event will feature the finals of the tournament, WWE Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan, WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn vs. Bronson Reed vs. Chad Gable, and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul.
However, the show will not feature a title defense from World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest. Instead, WWE is saving his next title defense against Drew McIntyre. On a recent episode of Raw, Priest said he would give McIntyre the next title shot once he’s medically cleared.
Coming out of WrestleMania, McIntyre has remained on television but is not working house shows due to his dealing with a hyperextended elbow in his WrestleMania match.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that McIntyre vs. Priest is expected to take place, something that has been speculated to be the case among fans.
It’s possible that CM Punk, who is expected to be returning to in-ring action in the next few months, may get involved and cost Priest the title to further their feud. At Backlash France, Priest successfully retained his title over Jey Uso thanks to outside interference from Judgment Day.
