LA Knight may still be in store for a notable match at WWE’s biggest event, WrestleMania 40, this April in Philly if WWE goes forward with an opponent that they’ve discussed for him in the past.
Breakout
Knight had a breakout year in 2023, including falling short to Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. He also competed in a fatal four-way bout with Reigns, Randy Orton, and AJ Styles last month at the Royal Rumble.
Knight is slated to battle Drew McIntyre next Friday on SmackDown. Knight will also work the Elimination Chamber match to determine a World Heavyweight Championship challenger for Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40, which also includes Orton, McIntyre, Kevin Owens, US Champion Logan Paul, and Bobby Lashley.
Potential match
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported in a Q&A that Knight vs. Paul was discussed. However, it’s unclear whether that is still the direction as the WrestleMania card has undergone various changes.
“That was the plan. I don’t still know if it is the plan, but that was discussed at one point.”
