Bobby Fish reportedly tried to convince Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly to quit AEW and return to WWE

As was previously noted, WWE reportedly reached out to several talent in AEW about returning and now news has come out that recently released Bobby Fish tried to get his former Undisputed Era friends to ask for their AEW release.

Ryan Frederick, who writes for the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, talked about this on the Wrestling Observer messageboard.

Fredrick wrote the following:

I posted it in the Bobby Fish thread but I know Fish was trying to get them to Cole and Kyle to ask for their releases to go back to WWE and they both told him no.

It’s possible Cole may have clued Tony in. If he did, I doubt he was the only one. I’m sure Swerve was one of them who did so.

Both Cole and O’Reilly have several years left on their deals with AEW and it appears that they are happy where they are. Cole has been out of action most of this year with injuries and he’s expected to return soon. O’Reilly recently underwent neck surgery and is not expected back until next year.

As for Fish, it’s unclear what the future holds for him. Presumably, he was looking at trying to reform The Undisputed Era in WWE but that does not look like it will be happening. In related news: More than one AEW star asked to be released after being contacted by WWE.
