During the latest “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T put over Trick Williams. It’s been very clear on NXT commentary that Booker sees big things in Trick’s future and the fans at the shows seem to agree.
Booker’s co-host Brad Gilmore joked that perhaps Trick is infringing on Booker’s gimmick by using some of his lines. Booker said that it’s okay with him because he cleared it and he wants to do everything possible to help Trick get to the next level.
“I wanna see that kid shine, man,” Booker said. “I wanna see Trick go to the next level. I wanna see him win. He even used, ‘Tell me he didn’t just say that.” Roll with it. Whatever I could do to help you get to the next level. I’m not gonna be one of these old wrestlers bitter about somebody using something that I used back in the day. I’m just not. I talk to Trick on a regular basis. He’s like one of my pupils. I’m definitely gonna guide him hopefully all the way to that end zone. First time I saw Trick I thought he was talent. Even before he ever got in the ring I said, ‘Man there’s something about this guy that passes the airport test.’ When you see that guy walking through the airport, you say who is that guy? The ladies turning, they looking. The guys looking…It’s one of those type of things. He checks off all of those boxes.”
Booker continued, “It’s not about wrestling. It’s just about going in the ring and performing. If you can do that and do it very very well, you’re gonna win every single time. That’s what he does and he does it very very well. For Trick, ah yeah man. He just took it all the way man. Like I said in the adlibs, I like it!”
Booker then joked about R-Truth stealing “all of my moves.” Booker said, “I endorsed it. I endorsed all of it. My spinning forearm, everything! I endorsed it because I want to see that brother win every time.”
Booker also said that he invented the side kick and he sees it all of the time and he loves that people use it because it makes him feel a certain way.
