Booker T on MJF: ‘He said the ship has been righted and I think that’s what that company needs’

On the latest “Hall Of Fame” podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T gave his thoughts on AEW Full Gear 2022.

Booker gave his thoughts on MJF winning the AEW Championship at Full Gear:

“I like that kid. I like everything about MJF. I had a chat with him on the Jericho cruise a couple of years ago and I thought this kid was a student of the game. I watch him work in the ring as well as out of the ring and it seems like he’s a student of the game, still. I heard a little bit of the press conference that he did after the match. I didn’t see the match, but I did hear some of the press conference on YouTube. He said the ship has been righted and I think that’s what that company needs more than anything, I think they need to get on a track to where people focus on the show as opposed to the drama that’s going on or just the individuals. I think when you got a show, it’s got to be focused on everything that’s going on, and everybody on that show, in order to make it successful. When you get to a point where there is only one person being thought about, it can be a problem. Those fans didn’t start chanting that CM Punk chant for no reason when The Young Bucks came out. It was like they were picking sides as far as, you know, this is what we want. We want wrestling. We don’t want drama.”

On Saraya’s return to the ring:

“I’m just glad to see her back. I predicted this. I said we’re gonna see Paige back in the ring real soon. I said we’re going to see her wrestling back in the ring real soon. I said I don’t know where it’s going to be at. I said I don’t know when it’s going to be, but I can tell you it is going to be sometime very, very quickly. I’m just happy to see her back in the ring. I’m happy to see she came back and got a win. You know, I mean, she put herself on the right track right off the bat. Paige has always been my girl, man. She’s always been very, very high on my list. I know how it is to have your career just taken away from you like that, and to see her come back, it’s pretty, pretty awesome.”

Booker’s thoughts on Nick Aldis:

“He spent a lot of time in NWA and he missed a lot of time where he could have been building himself. It’s hard to start building yourself as a major star when you haven’t worked in a major company and you’re what, 36, 37, 38 years old? It’s hard. That’s what I’m saying. You know, I would have even said the same thing about AJ Styles if he would have waited a few more years before coming over from TNA because I remember talking to him and Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe one day, and I go, ‘Man, y’all need to put this Romper Room to bed and go make some money and go to the big time if you want to make a legacy.’ Can you imagine what AJ Styles legacy would have been if he would have stayed in TNA forever?”
