Booker T says TNA should bring back the six-sided ring

On the latest Hall of Fame podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T commented on CM Punk’s WWE Raw promo. Booker was asked if he would have liked to see somebody come out and start an angle with CM Punk on his first night back on Raw.

“That’s wrestling 101,” Booker said. “That’s something we would expect. I don’t know. For me, I wouldn’t want to jump the gun too soon. We got him here. Let’s see where this thing goes. Let’s start slowly. That’s what I would think about first just because of history. There again, everything is a test all the time in this business. For me anyway, that’s the way I’ve always looked at it. Everything is always a test. Of course, that would have sparked the interest of the internet immediately.

Next month, Impact Wrestling will be rebranding back to TNA. Booker T was asked ifTNA should return with the six-sided ring:

“I do. That’s the one thing they said is they are not going to go back to the six-sided ring, but for me, the six-sided ring was TNA’s true identity. That’s what made them different from any wrestling company out there. Now I don’t know how difficult it is to make those six-sided rings. It can’t be that hard. It can’t be that hard to house two, three, four, or five of them in the warehouse just to keep them fresh, just to keep them fresh throughout the year or whatnot, but the six-sided ring was the identity of TNA and I said when they lost that, they lost a lot of time and money that they had put into that company. That’s just my opinion. Yes, I wish they would bring it back.”

While many fans have said that they love the 6-sided ring, several wrestlers have said over the years that the bumps are harder on that ring. Scott D’Amore recently told PWMania that there are no plans to bring that ring back.
