When Bray Wyatt returned to WWE last year, there was a lot of excitement among fans, but the run has started to receive some criticism regarding the way the company has booked him.
While he’s worked some house shows, he has only wrestled one match on WWE programming, a Lights Out Match against LA Knight at the Royal Rumble. Wyatt is set to wrestle Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.
Wyatt was slated to work Sunday’s live event at Madison Square Garden but was absent from the show.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez talked about Wyatt missing the show.
Alvarez: “Well, what may turn out to be a story or may not end up being a story, I should say what may end up being a bigger story because it is a story, Bray Wyatt wasn’t at MSG.”
Meltzer: “No, [Wyatt] and Braun Strowman replaced him. He was also in the battle royale. They had the MSG show. I do not know more about it, other than he wasn’t there and he wasn’t on SmackDown either.”
Alvarez: “He hasn’t been around in a while..because we had the angle where Uncle Howdy showed up and attacked Bobby Lashley and he got laid out. Bobby Lashley cut a promo…the last time we saw him was the video with the muscle man dance. Prior to that, it was a while ago.”
Meltzer added that Wyatt’s last appearance was last month on an episode of Raw. “Interesting, especially in the middle of WrestleMania season.”
