Former WWE Superstar Bray Wyatt passed away in his sleep, according to a report from TMZ.
The report notes that Wyatt (Windham Rotunda) suffered a “series of heart complications” during the last few months of his life and a doctor-recommended heart defibrillator was not with him when his body was found.
TMZ obtained law enforcement records that state that Wyatt told fiancee JoJo Offerman on Thursday that he was going to take a nap. An hour later, the alarm started going off without stopping. The alarm is what caused JoJo to get concerned and she found him in bed and not breathing. TMZ also noted that Wyatt was turning blue by the time she found him.
911 was called as JoJo’s mother attempted CPR but he was pronounced dead at the hospital. As Sean Ross Sapp noted last week, Wyatt got COVID earlier this year and that led to heart complications. TMZ noted that he had a “weak lower part of his heart” and he was hospitalized just a week before his death and was scheduled for a follow-up appointment on the day he died.
It’s unknown if the defibrillator would have saved his life. Police say that it was found inside his car in the driveway.
