Britt Baker: ‘I Would Love to Have a Match With Charlotte Flair’

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, DMD appeared on Mark Andrews: My Love Letter to Wrestling podcast to talk about AEW.

Baker on being a dentist and a wrestler:

“You find a way to do it. When it’s something you want to do, when it’s two things you want to do, you just make it happen. Sometimes it’s a little bit of sacrifice for sure, maybe like fun and like your social life and stuff like that, but at the end of the day, I love what I get to do and I’m so thankful that I get to have two careers to plan, so I don’t ever take that for granted and I try to never catch myself complaining that I have to go to work either way because I’m so thankful.”

On when she found out AEW was doing a show at Wembley Stadium:

“To show you how naive I was. I went with Tony Khan and Orange Cassidy to Wembley to watch the Jaguars play the Broncos. I thought we were just there to have a good time. Not once did I think there was any particular reason we were taking pictures together at Wembley and I would probably have a really good reason to post these pictures in a couple of months. I literally never didn’t even think twice about it, and then as time went on, we started hearing rumblings about it and then I think back to that trip and I was like, wait a second.”

On meeting Jamie Hayter on an EVE wrestling show:

“I wrestled one other time (in London) for a promotion called Eve. I actually wrestled Jamie Hayter. That’s where I met Jamie. She and I had stayed in touch. Then I was signed to AEW and she joined my team years later. So it was a cool little story, but that’s the only time I wrestled in London.”

On wanting to wrestle Deonna Purrazzo and Charlotte Flair:

“One of my best friends in the whole world is Deonna Purrazzo. Crossing a forbidden door that is definitely someone I would kill to have a match with, not let alone at Wembley Arena. Then let’s go to the other forbidden door, the other way. I always say I would love to have a match with Charlotte Flair. I think she’s one of the best that’s ever done it, and people, no matter what you say about her, she’s always proving people wrong. I think she is very admirable. Her attitude, her poise, it’s everything about her I looked up to.”
