Brock Lesnar had been portrayed as a babyface when he returned from hiatus at the WWE SummerSlam PLE in 2021 to feud with Roman Reigns for the Universal Title.
At WrestleMania 39 earlier this year, Lesnar went over Omos in the opening bout of the second night. The following night on Monday Night Raw, Lesnar turned heel by turning on Cody Rhodes, leading to a feud for several months.
Rhodes went over at Backlash in May, while Lesnar got his win back at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia. Their third match happened last Saturday at the WWE SummerSlam premium live event on Saturday night from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, where Rhodes went over.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Lesnar was injured early in the match. It’s unclear what the exact injury is, but he’s taking time off for the rest of the year, with him expected back for WrestleMania season.
