Bryan Danielson Undergoes Surgery to Fix Broken Orbital Bone

AEW is once again going without one of its biggest stars in Bryan Danielson, who is injured.

Danielson is sidelined because he suffered a broken orbital bone, although it’s not when exactly everyone thought it was, nor the narrative that AEW is stating due to storyline-related reasons.

The initial belief was he suffered it while working a tag team match with Claudio Castagnoli against Orange Cassidy and Kazuchika Okada on last week’s Dynamite. Instead, it reportedly happened when he clashed heads with Andrade in a recent match.

While hyping tonight’s AEW Dynamite, Tony Schiavone confirmed during the AEW Control Center that Danielson has undergone surgery for the broken orbital bone and is out “until later in the year.”

You can check out the card for tonight’s show here. We wish Danielson a speedy recovery.
