Charlotte Flair has non-WWE plans following WrestleMania

Charlotte Flair dropped the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania 39 (Saturday) to Rhea Ripley in a highly praised match.

Fans may have noticed that Flair was shredded for the bout. There’s a good reason for that, as she is looking at doing a bodybuilding competition this summer.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer pointed out how Flair had talked about doing a competition heading into WrestleMania.

“Charlotte Flair is down in weight. She’s talked about doing a bodybuilding contest….she’s talked about doing a bodybuilding contest this summer, and doing the diet and everything. I can’t tell you how much weight she’s lost, but it was very noticeable. Yeah, she’s down in weight and everything,” Meltzer stated.

Meltzer recalled talking with wrestlers who have tried to do this, and the bumps hurt a lot more, and it’s harder to do long matches while on that kind of diet.

Flair shared her goal while speaking with ESPN earlier this week. She did point out that she’s trying to figure out how it would work with her training while on the road, indicating she doesn’t plan to take time off from WWE.

“I would love, love, love to do a [bodybuilding] competition. I’m thinking about doing it this summer,” Flair stated. “I know what goes into it from a diet standpoint and how lean you get. How do I make that work on the road?”
