It’s been a couple of months since AEW released CM Punk from his contract but there’s still a lot of talk about his future in pro wrestling with some fans on social media thinking that he’s returning soon.
For those who have not kept up on social media, there is a large chunk of fans who believe that Punk will return to wrestling but not in WWE. In recent weeks, there’s been a growing sentiment that the Devil is actually Punk and that his release is just an elaborate work. There is no evidence that this is the case but in wrestling you never say never and anything is possible. With that being said, if there is a big work with Punk, then it means that they would have had to keep this a secret from virtually everyone in the company. As seen below, Punk took to Instagram to post a photo of Ric Flair just before he was revealed to be the Black Scorpion in 1991.
The news on Punk has not changed. The latest is that he reportedly wants to return to WWE but company officials declined to sign him but that can always change. We have heard nothing about Punk and Tony Khan talking again. As for who else could be under the Devil mask, some of the names that have been speculated include Adam Cole, Britt Baker, and MJF himself.
