CM Punk Has Taken a Liking to the Work of AEW Star Ahead of Return

Ahead of CM Punk’s return to AEW on the June 17th episode of Collision, a show that is slated to be built around him, there have been two names rumored to be in the running for his first opponent back in the promotion since being suspended last year due to the All Out brawl.

Those names have been Chris Jericho and Samoa Joe. However, there could be another name in the running for Punk’s first feud back.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that AEW has taken measures to make sure talent that has issues with Punk will be separate from him in the brand split. Some people in AEW feel the situation with Punk and the Collision announcement wouldn’t have blown up as much if Ace Steel wasn’t involved.

The report added that the word going around is that “CM Punk has taken a liking to the work of Switchblade Jay White, and that he could be an early opponent or program with CM Punk along with Bullet Club Gold.”
