CM Punk took to Instagram to poke fun at the story reported today in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
For those of you that missed it, Dave Meltzer wrote that from a fan standpoint, things look good and that ratings and attendance look good this week for AEW. However, one top name noted to Meltzer that they went home after Dynamite in a “bad mood” and this was even with the key people being kept apart. The key people would be Kenny Omega/Young Bucks and CM Punk.
The belief is that the Omega/Bucks segment was taped last week and they weren’t actually backstage, which explains why they were not part of the final segment of the show with Eddie Kingston, The BCC, etc.
Meltzer said that the top star “described the fear of this being a ticking time bomb that will not have a happy ending.” Meltzer reported similar things last year before the backstage fight happened last September after All Out and it seems like his source fears that something like that could happen again.
Punk took to Instagram Stories and simply posted a photo of himself with Rancid’s “Time Bomb” song playing. So, he seems to be acknowledging the report without saying much.
