CM Punk reportedly was backstage at WWE Raw, asked to leave by Vince McMahon

A VERY interesting name was spotted tonight at WWE Raw in Chicago at the Allstate Center.

PWInsider reports that CM Punk was backstage “for a bit” tonight before Raw. That’s a surprise given that Punk and WWE have not been on good terms since he left the company in 2014 and Punk is believed to be returning to AEW in June on the debut of the Collision show on TNT. The only WWE-related thing that Punk has done since 2014 was WWE Backstage on Fox Sports 1 but Punk was hired and paid by Fox, not WWE.

PWInsider stated that Punk briefly saw Paul “Triple H” Levesque, the first time that they would have seen each other since 2014.

Additionally, Punk met with several WWE talents but was “eventually” asked to leave the arena. Once source stated that the belief is that he was probably asked to leave because he is under contract with AEW.

The same source stated that it was a Vince McMahon call that he should leave the arena and once he was asked to leave, Punk immediately said his goodbyes and left. McMahon is not backstage but has been making working remotely from home and making changes remotely to tonight’s show.
