Cody Rhodes: “I think one day you will see MJF in WWE”

Cody Rhodes and MJF will always have a connection due to their time in AEW as it was MJF who was at the side of Rhodes in the early days of the promotion.

History

Rhodes helped MJF become the star he is today as MJF cost Rhodes his one and only World Heavyweight Title shot in All Elite Wrestling. He is also responsible for Rhodes not being allowed in storyline due to a stipulation that he could never challenge for the World Title again. They went on to have a classic feud.

Now, Rhodes is a top star in WWE, and MJF is the face of AEW as the World Heavyweight Champion. MJF talked about the bidding war 2024 between AEW and WWE but has stopped mentioning it for much of 2023. There’s been speculation that he has already re-signed with AEW, although that’s not confirmed.

The future

While speaking with Michael Kay and Peter Rosenberg on the YES Network, Rhodes was asked whether he thinks MJF will make the jump to WWE one day.

“I think one day you will see MJF in WWE,” Rhodes stated before talking about their history and how MJF was one of his recruits. He thinks MJF has a lot of potential and his “overall professionalism is beaming.”

Rhodes praised MJF for putting on more muscle over the last year and a half.

“When he does that jump, I don’t know when that is if he makes the jump, but if he comes to WWE, he’ll have to stand across from guys like Drew McIntyre, you have to stand across from guys like Omos or, gosh, Brock Lesnar,” Rhodes stated.

Rhodes noted that part of being a wrestler is looking the part by putting in the work at the gym.
