WWE is preparing to do a third match between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar after having them wrestle each other twice, but that match won’t take place immediately.
The two stars have been feuding with each other and have a 1-1 record in singles competition. At Backlash, Rhodes scored a win before losing to Lesnar at Night of Champions when Rhodes passed out in a kimura.
As previously reported, WWE is considering a match stipulation that hasn’t been used in years for their bout at SummerSlam on August 5.
Insider account Boozer #BWE, which has broken past WWE stories, reported that WWE is planning to have Rhodes wrestle Dominik Mysterio. There are two paths of getting to this match being discussed: a mixed tag team match or a temporary alliance with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to take out Judgment Day.
It’s unclear who Rhodes would get as his partner to take on Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley if WWE went with the mixed tag team match. It’s possible WWE brings in Brandi for the feud.
