On this week’s episode of WWE Raw, Cody Rhodes and Chad Gable had an excellent match that featured one of the best Cross Rhodes in recent memory as the finish. The bout went about 10 minutes.
The WRKD Wrestling Twitter account, which was the first to break the news that Lita was returning to WWE TV and also reported along with other media outlets that Trish Stratus was coming back, shared an interesting tweet about this match.
The tweet noted Rhodes wanted to bring in Gable to AEW when he was an EVP in the promotion. In 2021, there was a report about how there had been talent hoping AEW to bring in Gable and now we know Rhodes was one of the names.

In October 2021, it was reported that Gable’s friends wanted him to go to the rival promotion. This was around the time that he wasn’t being used much while doing the Shorty G gimmick.
