WWE has been in an interesting spot the last few months following the return of Vince McMahon as the Chairman of the WWE Board while exploring a sale, which led to him approving the acquisition of the company from The Endeavor Group. At the same time, McMahon has been hands-on with changes made to WWE creative. Also, after a hiring frenzy, no big talent signings have been made, whether that is former WWE stars or talent from other promotions.
There have been conflicting reports regarding there being a hiring freeze going on in the company, with some people saying they’re still hiring while others deny that belief.
As previously reported in January, Colby Corino was expected to come into the promotion with the idea he would start training at the Performance Center.
However, that hasn’t happened. Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam reports that the current “hiring freeze” affects Corino. Initially, Haynes was told that wouldn’t be the case, but things have seemingly changed.
It should be noted that Corino never signed a WWE deal but was offered one with both sides agreeing to it. Shortly after that, the company was acquired by Endeavor, and that’s when the process with Corino stopped.
Colby is the son of former WCW World Champion/WWE Performance Cent Coach Steve. Colby made a name for himself while competing for organizations like ROH and NWA.
