Contract for Top WWE Star Set to Expire in a Few Months

It’s a contract season for many in the world of pro wrestling, including those in WWE, such as Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and other stars.

The year

2024 is about big money for many, as WWE and AEW have either locked down new television deals or are looking to get those deals done. WWE has locked up media rights deals for Raw, NXT, and SmackDown, while AEW still needs to figure out its future broadcast deal.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported today that Finn Balor’s WWE contract is up after WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia. The news was first reported on Twitter by Wrestling Inc. founder and former owner Raj Giri. Giri noted the word he heard was that Balor hadn’t been approached about signing a new deal just yet.

Contract status

Fightful was told that Balor’s deal is “not immediately after WrestleMania”; instead, it would be up within a few months of WrestleMania. Balor is not the only one who has not been approached about extending their deal, as that has been the case for several stars who also have a deal coming up.

Balor is the current WWE Tag Team Champion and has yet to declare for the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
