A former WWE Champion could become a free agent in a few months.
Per Fightful Select, Sheamus’ contract is set to expire in a few months. There aren’t many details available except that it is believed that his deal expires in the early part of 2024. That is not confirmed though.
Keep in mind that WWE extends deals because of injuries but it’s not confirmed if his deal was extended. Sheamus signed a developmental deal with WWE in 2006. He’s been used as a steady hand on the mid-card and occasionally in the main event picture throughout his run with the company.
For those of you wondering about AEW, if he becomes a free agent, it’s possible that he could sign with them and he has friends there. One of his best friends, Edge, has been rumored to be making the jump to AEW.
