Darby Allin defeated Samoa Joe to win the TNT Championship on AEW Dynamite. Allin won the title in his hometown.
Before the match got started, Joe put his hands on Nick Wayne, the son of the late Buddy Wayne, who trained Allin. Allin attacked with a skateboard and he did a swanton on Joe off the top of a ladder. Taz noted that it looked like Allin’s left leg hit Joe in the head.
The match finally got started and Joe dominated for several minutes but Allin was able to make a comeback. He hit the Code Red and two Coffin Drops to win the title. Sting went to the ring to celebrate as confetti dropped from the ceiling.
