There has been speculation for the last several weeks about what Edge will do next in his pro wrestling career as his deal with WWE expired this month. He worked the last match on his current WWE deal in late August on SmackDown with a win over Sheamus.
Edge previously denied a report noting that WWE declined to meet his request regarding what it would take to keep him under contract, adding more fuel to the speculation that he could be AEW-bound. Edge noted a contract extension offer from WWE in his inbox in a Twitter video.
Pwinsider reports the WWE Hall of Famer is no longer listed on WWE’s internal talent roster. WWE.com still lists him as an active performer.
Since news broke that Edge’s deal was up, there has been a belief among some in WWE that he could be headed to AEW, where he could reunite with longtime friend and tag team partner Christian Cage.
There’s still no word yet on whether AEW has talked with Edge nor what Edge will do as it’s also possible that Edge retires again or re-signs with WWE.
