Eric Bischoff on Andrade’s expected WWE return: I’m surprised that they let him go in the first place

Eric Bischoff gave his thoughts on various topics on the latest episode of his 83 Weeks Podcast. During it, Bischoff talked about whether he believes that Andrade is returning to WWE after leaving AEW.

How we got here

Andrade lost to Miro at the AEW World End pay-per-view event, marking his final AEW appearance. Andrade had been making hints that he wasn’t happy with the promotion and is expected to make his WWE return any time now.

It should be noted that in March 2021, Andrade requested his release from WWE, and although it was initially denied, WWE eventually granted his release before he made the jump to AEW. Things have changed since then as Triple H is now in charge of creative and had booked Andrade strongly in NXT including a run as NXT Champion.

Expected return

“Oh, yeah. He’s an amazing talent. Incredible. I’m surprised that they let him go in the first place,” Bischoff stated. “Amazing talent, and I’m glad he’s coming back. If indeed that’s true. I’m glad he’s coming back because we’ll see more of him. How many times has Andrade wrestled in AEW? He was there for a year and a half? Two years? How many times have we seen him wrestle? Half a dozen. He’s in the witness protection program.”

Bischoff also commented on the rumors about a former WWE star who is expected to be signing with AEW soon as well as why he’s not interested in another job in wrestling.
