With the WWE Royal Rumble PLE taking place in just over 24 hours, there has been a lot of speculation about who will be brought in by WWE to make a surprise appearance or return to the company.
Past talks
There are several spots remaining in both the Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble matches. Mercedes Mone is a name on a lot of people’s minds regarding her future.
Mone had had talks with both AEW and WWE, but WWE’s talks with Mone about returning broke down as WWE sources claimed that they were the ones to walk away from the negotiations as they were far apart on money. Mone is expected to make her AEW debut soon.

Pwinsider reports Mone was spotted in Boston, MA, hours away from the host Royal Rumble site of Tampa, FL, and there has been zero talk of her in WWE as of late as some people in the company think she is headed to AEW.
However, other people in WWE are taking an “I won’t believe she’s not returning until she’s somewhere else” stance.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that they asked a WWE source about the possibility of Mone showing up, and the source said, “Well, we’re not really interested in contract tampering with her, so I doubt it.”
