Speculation about who may make a surprise return to the company continues to rise as the WWE Royal Rumble gets closer to taking place on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Tampa, FL.
The show
Bayley, Nia Jax, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair have been confirmed for the Women’s Bout while Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, and GUNTHER have been confirmed for the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight vs. AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton and WWE United States Champion Logan Paul vs. Kevin Owens are the other top matches on the card.
WWE likes to have surprises in the Rumble matches, whether that means having NXT stars make their main roster debut by competing in the match or bringing back former stars and Hall of Famers.
This was something that Michelle McCool was asked about on Twitter, noting that she hasn’t been asked yet. WWE likes to keep the surprises a big secret, so they may not ask her until the show gets closer.
Last appearance
A perfect example was last year, as McCool’s WWE Royal Rumble appearance was decided just days before the event after fans messaged WWE and Triple H.
McCool eliminated Tamina and lasted 13 minutes before she was removed by Rhea Ripley, the eventual 30-Woman Royal Rumble winner. Rhea went on to dethrone Charlotte Flair to become the now-Women’s World Champion.
Haven’t been asked🤷🏼‍♀️ https://t.co/YLtYn9gKAq
